Rules / FAQ
If you have a question about any of these rules, or something we haven't covered here, feel free to e-mail us.
- When you're nominating someone for 'Most Prolific Author', 'Best Author' or 'Best New Author' you must provide a link to their archive /writing journal / archive author profile in the space provided for the story link.
- When nominating someone for 'Best Beta' please list those they beta for in the comments section at the end of the nominating form.
- A story may only be nominated once per section in each round. Check the pending section before you nominate.
- If a person wins for Best Author or Best New Author, they may not be nominated again in those categories. If a person wins for Best Beta, they cannot be nominated for the next 2 rounds in that category.
- A story cannot be nominated in the category it won in for 1 round.
- You may only fill out one nomination form per story.
- You may only vote once per round.
- You are allowed to nominate as well as vote for yourself.
- While putting up a nominee button and/or a link button is appreciated it is not mandatory if you're nominated.
- We will be e-mailing people to let them know that they've been nominated.
- You will not go on the nominee list until you've responded to the e-mail alert.
- The judges reserve the right to question the nomination of a story that either a) doesn't meet the requirements of the category it is nominated to (ie. a primarily slash story nominated for a het category) or b) has numerous grammar, spelling, and/or punctuation errors.
- In the event that a story is nominated to an improper category, we will contact the author to resolve the issue
- If the piece you want to nominate is in a locked / password protected area, we cannot accept the nomination. However, feel free to let the author know we have an archive if they wish to host the story there for the round.
- If you do not provide an email for either yourself, or the author, we cannot accept the nomination. If you do not provide a working link for the story, then we cannot accept the nomination.
- I have a fic I want to nominate that is a series of Ten 100 word drabbles, which length category should I nominate it for?
- If the drabbles are all in one place [ie. on the same page or linked to each-other] then it belongs with the One-Shots or Series, whichever is more appropriate.
- I have a story that has both slash and het pairings, which category should I nominate it in?
- Whichever pairing is central to the story should decide which category it belongs in. If both are central, then nominate it in whichever you prefer. The same applies to multiple era or genre stories.
- Can stories done by the judges and site runners be nominated?
- Yes, those judges or site runners are just not allowed to vote for their stories for 'Judges' Favorite'. They either have to vote for someone else for judges' favorite, or not vote for anyone.
